Once again, it’s been an intense couple weeks. Many adventures and I haven’t posted in almost a month! Well, I choose to be kind to myself and let go of the expectation/intention I had to post weekly. My life right now is not conducive to that but as I can, I will!
I was in NYC 4 times this month! Twice to see my dear first born son, and amazing musician, playing for a very intriguing play, and in a solo gig with his band, playing some really great original music with his band (see www.elijahtucker.com). And twice to see Marketa Irglova of The Swell Season, who you may recall, I had the pleasure of meeting in the airport after my grandmother passed away (see the posts from Nov 29 and Dec 2). I had a many magical moments while there – including enjoying a beautiful dinner Marketa made and a wonderful tea time with the two of us. I provided tea and she brought a gorgeous box of hand made chocolates!
It’s always amazing when getting to know a new friend. What do you initially share of yourself? What aspect of your personality shows up? There are some friends, where, what is drawn out is your essence, it isn’t that important what is talked about, something deeper is being shared. Marketa is that kind of friend. And I am grateful to the universe for directing us to each other!
My trip was filled with brunches with old friends – one of whom was among my oldest friends from elementary school. Another, the daughter of a dear friend who now lives in Baltimore. Her daughter lives in Brooklyn and it was a joy to have brunch with both of my sons and her with my husband.
I had a very intense, amazing, profound visit from my sister who is going through some major shifts and changes regarding our childhood! Major letting go, getting clear, moving on, being freed from past perceived limitations – such a beautiful and heartfelt process – revealing more of her essence and letting more light shine through! YAY!
So, Tuesday I leave for Atlanta for a visit with my other sister, and dear friends for the week. I will be attending Chantlanta as well – a beautiful chanting festival that my friend Ian started after moving there. I will chant with his band and see my friend Wah as well. Looking forward to that!
For now, I have had a lovely day of painting, a beautiful way of watching some of the swirling feelings, thoughts, and emotions of these days find their way onto the canvas…here are a few pic’s – “Neptune” was finished last week and sold already!
I am working on two others that don’t have names as they are in mid – process. I am enrolled in Flora Bowley’s e-course – Brave Intuituitive painting. It, like Flora herself is fantastic! the two I am working on are the one with the white tree, which used to look like this:
Which has now transformed into the tree you see in the slideshow below. The others are what lead up to the one with the woman with the swirly, curly blue hair! Never a dull moment with my painting process – I LOVE it!
One last thing before I sign off for this post. Please take a moment to click on the link over to the right of this post that says: “Donate to send the band to Bhakti Fest”. Here you be taken to an explanation of our fundraising campaign that has begun to help get my band to two wonderful chant fest, Bhakti Fest where we have been invited to play! More info to come – help if you can – we are So Very Grateful!
More to share, but for now – Adios!

Thanks, Clair! Would you say “namaste’ ” to Ian for me. . . Gwen Guerke. He and I took Foundations together in Rehoboth. I’m taking it again next month.
Not that I’m a slow learner. . . hard to let go of expectations. Namaste’ to you and your family as well.
thanks Gwen – I sure will!
dearest clair, i am so absorbed in the mystery and the beauty of your work, that with each new painting, i am drawn as a moth is to the candle. it is such a comfort,, knowing that within your soul, there are so many more, “cooking” there, just waiting to hear your voice, calling each them to
come and dappen your brush.
i am so blessed by all you have given, and anxiously await all the surprises you have for your followers.
